    Suddenly I have lost the ability to drag and drop or cut and paste text, folders, or anything. Nothing works. I've tried ctl/c, ctl/v, copy and delete. This makes for a helpless situation. Any ideas will be appreciated.
    I'm using winxp pro. thanks

    You could try logging in as the local administrator. If that does not work, then it is reinstall time.

    Thanks I came to the same condlusion. Right now I'm too groggy to try anything else so maybe tomorrow I'll reinstall.
