Digital 8 camcorder with video input?

Hi all,

I am interested in get a Digital 8 camcorder for transfer hi8/video 8 mm tapes.
I have heard that the camera have an inbuilt TBC and DNR. I know that they are for hi8/video8 tapes but are they also for video input?
I have seen some dvds that have been done using a digital 8 camcorder for convert analog to digital and the quality is quite good .

I have a Sony DCR-TRV120 Digital8 camcorder and it will passthrough analog(video in/out).One problem is Digital8 camcorders are hard to find nowadays but you might be able to find a DCR-TRV280.Another problem I've read is some PAL camcorders(in EU) have the analog passthrough turned off.

First you probably don't want an NTSC model for Spain. Many Euro nations TAX DV import resulting in many EU models turning this feature off rather than paying the tax.

Ask your local politico if they made a peso doing this. Or vote them into a real job.

If you can find a PAL model that imports analog PAL outside EU then mostly the answer is YES. You may need to travel to find one. I wouldn't buy a camcorder online without a full warranty. In overseas international zones (hotels and airports) you can get an international warrnaty if purchased from a factory authroized dealer.

there are a lot of digital 8 camcorders on ebay.de finishing every day. Most of them have A/V inputs.

Or outputs.... To disable that feature they wouldn't change it physically. Simply removing it from the menu will work. I'd assume it's still fully capable of passthrough except you have no way of selecting it .
