I have some problematic vobs that I want to join with the hope that all the chapters/titles can be seen by TDA for reauthoring. These are components of a DVD+RW which itself plays perfectly in every stand alone DVD player I have. I've used FixVTS, IfoEdit, VOBEdit but still DVDShrink and TDA cannot see it. Any other Tools you can suggest? Thanks

  3. Hi-

You can either demux it into M2V, Audio, and Cells.txt (chapters), which will be better if you plan on reauthoring, or into one large Vob, using PGCDemux.

You may be able to get it off the DVD+RW directly, since it isn't encrypted, but I've never tried. And this assumes there's nothing wrong with the DVD.

I was able to make one 4GB+ VOB file. I do not know the next step so that TDA or DVDShrink can see all chapters/titles. Sorry.

The DVD+RW is a recording of karaoke songs from TV. DVD Decrypter ripped it okay

TDA should be able ti import the content using the Add Video function. DVD Shrink will only see compliant DVD Structures, which you don't seem to have. I don't know if TDA will retain the chapter stops, so you may have to put them back by hand afterwards.

I think something really went wrong with my LiteOn DVD recorder. For the record, its previous recordings can be seen by TDA (ALL titles/chapters). Although DVDShrink can only see a few titles/chapters.

What's amazing is, even with this current problem, the DVD plays fine in every DVD player I have. The MPAA could make use of this phenomenon. Because one cannot possibly reauthor using DVDShrink.

Anyway, perhaps I will just connect this LiteOn to my JVC DVD recorder and transfer all the complete songs I want. The LiteOn has no Firewire-Out so I will be using composite cables. Since the karaoke songs are CD+G type, degradation of quality will be forgiven.

    Thank you for your time.
