  1. Hi, I have an XVID AVI with uncompressed WAV audio. When I compress the audio to AC3 using VirtualDub for the purpose of demuxing the AC3, the video goes out of sync (it is fine with the WAV audio). Is there another way to convert the WAV to AC3 while keeping it in sync? Or any other way to do this, as I'm trying to make author a DVD with TMPGEnc DVD Author.

Save the uncompressed wav to a wav file, then use ffmpegui to convert to AC3.

How are you encoding your video ?

  3. I'm encoding the video with tmpgenc. I plan to author the DVD with M2V and AC3 streams.

I haven't tried ffmpegui yet... do you mean the sync problem is caused by VirtualDub's AC3 encoding specifically? It usually works fine for me.

It may be losing the delay, which a lot of audio tracks have. I have never encoded to AC3 from virtualdub, and most of the time use Sound Forge without any sync problems.
