    do people send viruses via this site? I'v bin sent a message from a random person with a link in it.

    AVG Virus Scanner is pretty good and it's free.

    Yeah imageshack.us is safe.
    Another good free anti-virus is Avast Free,it will detect viruses/trojans on websites and downloads.

    I got the same PM - the offender (briskx) has been banned. Guilty of a combination of one or all of spam, warez, being a nuisance etc. etc.
