I saw a cable signal booster (phillips/magnavox) at walmart for 9.99. I also saw some more expensive one's at radioshack that were 25.99 to 35.99. Whic is the best signal booster to get. My cable has tiny very fine but very hard to see lines in it. I tried un-hooking everything before trying to capture to my tv tuner card, but the lines are still there. I have the same lines even in the living room. I tried now cable cords etc from just the outlet to the tv and still had lines. Not all of my channels have lines but maybe 25 to 30% of the channels do, unfortuantly it is the channels my fav shows come on . So anyway I had the cable man come out and check it. Channel 12 is the worst with the lines and all, but if there is a cartoon with lots of different colors or bright backgrounds it is hard to see on the tv. Well Digimon was on and I was trying to show the lines to the guy and he just did the thing were he says " oh ok I see it" just to get you to shut up. The lines sometime scroll up slowly. So later he came back and tested the lines outside and we had a thing on out doorknob that said " there was a problem" and a check box that had "we fixed it" checked. It didn't fix it, I still have lines like crazy. Which is a pain cause it is on the channels that Dark Angel, Angel, Roswell, Buffy are all on

Is there any filters I can use in virtual-dub to clear up or get rid of the clear lines in the video? also when I try to capture Angel from channel 11 it has sorta like a dark fuzz to it. It is barely visible, but when it is on the monitor it makes it look like 20 times worse. It looks like someone threw sand on the video lol anyway what filters in vdub can help me out?

  4. It could be FM interference, you can try an inexpensive filter that installs between your cable and TV antenna inputs and see if it fixes your problem.
Here are a few links about cable tv troubleshooting:
