I was just curious if anybody could let me know if they knew which is the best anti virus software to run on a dual core system?

I don't depend a lot on a antivirus program by itself. I use AVG on my computers, along with SpyBot S&D, Spyware Blaster, Sygate firewall, Stopzilla, ProtoWall, and a hardware firewall in my router. And I keep them updated. There's a lot more bad stuff out there than just viruses.
But of the two you mention, I like Trend Micro. I use their online scanner for other peoples computers I work on to clean everything out. -
I'd add ewido anti-spyware to your list, catches alot of nasty stuff.
