I want to convert some divx movies to DVD to watch on dvd player.
For converting i am using Winavi 7.6 and dvd lab pro for authoring and ading titles.
What you suggest when converting divx with 29.97 or 23.94 frame to dvd.I am in europe(Pal system). Does is better to change resolution and frame rate or no? I try that but i have problem with picture.
So, wich option in Winavi is important when converting movies with 29.97 or 23.94 frames.

WinAVI -- arrghhh !!!!!
Chances are your player can play back NTSC material. If it can, leave it as NTSC. If the material is 23.976, use an encoder that can encode it as 23.976, then apply 2:3 pulldown to allow for 29.970 playback. The player will take care of this for you.
If the material is already 29.970 then you can either leave it as is (simplest method), or look at trying 5to revert it back to 23.976 (complex).
WinAVI is not good for any of this. It will encode 23.976 material to 29.970, making it jerky. It will be even worse if you try to use it to convert the material to PAL (25 fps)Read my blog here.

So you suggest that if my material is 29.97 that i leave it?
I just wondering which program is good for PAL-NTSC and reverse conversion? -
ProCoder is the only encoder that has a good reputation for this. The best method, if you must, is the pulldown method. There are dozens of posts on how to do it properly. search for DGpulldown related posts. However, try to go from 29.970 fps to 25 fps is a fool's errand.

I succeed with procoder to change 23.976 to 25 frame rate.
My source was divx film with resolution 608x256 23.976 fps. I load that file in procoder and for target format i use PAL 720x576 25fps.
And my finall result was great. Movie is OK its not jerky.
Is this good metod to change 23.967 to 25 fps.
I will now try with procoder to change 25 fps divx to 29.97 fps NTSC DVD.
One question for DGpulldown:
Does i must to import progressive film or i can to import non progresive. -
Don't. When going from NTSC 23.976 to PAL, encode at PAL resolution (720 x 576) at 23.976 fps. Use DGPulldown to add pulldown flags for 25 fps playback. No need to change the length of audio or subtitles, as everything will continue to match up.

So its better to encode to PAL 720x576 at leave at 23.976 fps. And than with DGpulldown to change just fps?
Does i can use that metod for 29.97 to 25. I mean to encode to pal and with DGpulldown to change to 25 fps? -
No. You can only use it successfully to go from a slower to a faster framerate. It works by instructing the player to create the missing frames on the fly. The actual running time doesn't change (which is why audio and subs don't need to be altered). Going from 29.970 to 25 fps requires removing frames. Different problem altogether.
If the 29.970 was originally 23.976 material that has been telecined, then the best method is to return it to 23.976 by running an inverse telecine process to kill the duplicated farmes, then use the pulldown process to go from 23.976 to 25 fps.
