This is the first DVD i have not been able to to make a back-up of.
I searched this forum with only 1 post that has the same problem i do,
but the post is dated in 2004.

    Here is what i use:
MTR (Mac the Ripper), latest release to rip the DVD, then DETOX (DVD2oneX) to compress the output of MTR and then Toast 7 to burn to a disc.

I can rip the disk with no problem, using DTOX to shrink, is where the problem
    lies.

With 1min 10 sec. to go i get two DVD2oneX messages, one saying "Error adjusting the IFO file. It does not match with the VOB file." and the other one saying "For full diskcopy you need to copy all files from the DVD in file mode."

Tried it with the latest DTOX, and vers. 1.4.1, then i tried DVDRemaster v1.3.1
which took over 5 hrs to compleate, no error messages.

After about 12 min into the movie it started to pixilate at about the same
rate, the pixilating only lasts for a split second about 29 sec. apart.

I know this post is long, but i wanted to document the prob. as best i could.

Thanks for your time, and hopfully an answer.

On a PC FixVTS would probably fix this problem. Is there any program for the MAC that performs the function of FixVTS on a PC?

from what I've read over at
    the MTR forums on ripdifferent.com,
    the winning combination is:

    MTR 3.0rD13 to rip
DTOX 2.05 to compress ( and fix IFO errors)
    toast 7 to burn

Do you have ALL of these pieces?

Thar's the way i do it.

Thing is the rip with MTR plays off the hard drive fine, the arttifacts happen after using
DTOX, that's why i tried DVDRemaster using DTOX with 1min 10 sec left every time
same error messages appear never able to compleat using DTOX

  7. Well if it is R13d then you should be ok on the rip. Use DVD2oneX to remove any empty cells.

What movie is this, there have been several post on specific movies and how to fix them at the MTR forum.
Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion.

I tried using the steps above, just for giggles.
    MTR 3.0R13D complete full disc.
    DTOX 2.05 full disc copy
    Toast to burn.

plays fine matches my factory copy no problems....

Did you have a copy rented of FD and have you played it
I can rip it no promlrm it if 2min 10sec before DTOX was finished
The same problem with both DTOX vers 1,4,1 and DTOX2
What vers. of DTOX did you use and that is the only difference

    to elaborate on my post:

I bought my two disc copy at Walmart for $14~
( have to say the Choose your Fate feature makes it worth
the price for the set )

I put it in the Mac, and ran MTR 3.0rd13, no pre-scan
ripped full disc to computer HD. Launced DVD2ONEX,
    version 2.05,
and did a full disc copy, shrinking to fit 4340.
it made a full backup, no errors. no hangups.

Dragged and dropped the outputted folder into Toast,
in the DVD(UDF) window, and burned to disc.

ejected the disc, played it ( first 30mins, and all menus and previews) works fine on a RCA5240p, my main player in the den.

    hope this helps sknox.

Terry i have done many B/U's exactly the way you do with no problems.
So far Final Dest 3, RV, and Scary Movie 4 all will not do a compleat rip with MTR 1.4.1 or and/or 3.0rd13.
vers 1.4.1 (dummy vob's) vers 3.0rd13 will start prescan of the disk and just and stop 1 tenth of the way in and the drive stops accesing the disk.
I'm having more and more problems ripping with MTR and using DTOX to do Full Disk Extraction
DVD2ONEX, version 2.05 or any vers will not work.
    More probs with newer releases.
If you want i will go into more detail in a seperate post.

Why am i having these probs im not doing anything different and i have done 300 disks with no problems.

    Thanks

Hate to tell you, but I bought Scary Movie 4 unrated
from Amazon ( half cash/half $10 Amazon gift Card)
and followed my same steps as listed before.

No problems whatsoever. I did change one thing though.
Since moving up to OSX 10.4.7 on my main home computer,
I have been using MTR (UNIBI)10.4 version, which is the
(unibi build). Just to get into the habit of running (unibi)
    software.
    No problems whatsoever. Try that.
Also, try trashing your prefs for both MTR and DVD2ONEX,
and run Onyx to give the system a clean "sweep" if you will.

    AND DON"T USE PRE-SCAN!
TURN IT OFF in MTR's PREFS!!
I believe GB said it doesn't work and can cause....

    ...wait for it.....

So where did you get the one you use?
Also i find no prefs for MTR

    Prefs for MTR are under
    the MacTheRipper Menu-->Preferences
    (see screenshot)

I got my 10.4(unibi) build from GB..he sent me the links for being a
good little donator. You should have had them, if you donated to the cause.
one for 10.3.9 build, one for 10.4(unibi) build...
