I'm wondering is there is a capture card that will allow a higher quality capture than my S-video input. I record quite a few things from DirecTV (HD broadcasts) and was hoping to upgrade my quality. Is there a capture card that has HDMI or DVI inputs, or are we still ways from that? What other options might there be?

    Thanks in advance

I don't think they would want you to capture with HDMI or DVI, so not that I'm aware of. But you can get a HDTV capture card that might work for HDTV streams, depending on your source. You can go to 'Capture Cards' to the left and start with 'All Digital TV' for starts, or refine it depending on the source video.

There are also HD capture cards that work with HD Component Analog (Y-U-V) and with HD-SDI connections, but they're usually for Pro editing stations (Apple FCP, AVID Composer/Xpress, etc). I don't think that's what you're talking about though ($$$).
