  1. I have a .avi file that is around 138MB. It's 22 mins of video. Using Virtualdub, I cut out an 18 second clip that I liked. Now I want to save this as an .avi file ....... every time I try to save, it processes for a couple seconds and then outputs a 390MB file!!! I have tried the "save as" function as well as some others. All the same. I tried switch to direct stream copy. No change. I'm not really good with this piece of software, so some help would be great! Thanks!

  2. If you'd left it as default, it will be outputting the file as "RGB (Uncompressed)" which takes up loads of space. Ensure that you have "Direct Stream Copy" enabled under both audio and video menus, and it should work. Not sure why it didn't before, as you said you had tried it, but perhaps something went wrong.

Give it a shot again and let us know.

    Good luck!
