  1. I have a DVD that I made using TMPGEnc DVD AUTHOR. I'm happy with the results that TDA has given me, however I have started using DVD LAB PRO for the extensive features it has to offer. And after doing several searches, I still haven't found anything directly documenting what I'm interested in achieving. Is it possible to import my pre authored DVD into DVDLAB PRO, yet keeping the original navigation root menu that I authored in TDA, and adding a first play pre-menu intro clip? I have found plenty of info about how to add the splash clip, however nothing concerning DVD LAB PRO's ability to edit pre authored DVD files and maintaining that discs' current menu & chapter settings. The movie consists of a single video file with 11 chapters all accessible from text buttons (no thumbnails) from the root menu [see pic]. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! THANX!! -ssf-

You can start a new project in DVD-Lab PRO, then do a File/Attach External VTS.

You might have to modify the end links of your attached VTS using something like PGCedit (if it does not have the navigational link you want). You do that AFTER you burn the new DVD to your hard drive.

  3. I am thoroughly confused! Do I open the .vobs into the "assets" window, then attach the imported external VTS? When I am adding the .vobs to the project, I chose the first option which was to demux into elementary streams. I can see the chapters and the coordinating time positions in the "movie 1" detailed timeline. however I cannot get the menu to setup as the original. Obviously DVD LAB is very new to me, I find the layout very confusing. If I were Authoring a DVD from video clips for a new project altogether I don't feel like this program would be that difficult to navigate thru to set up files to be authored; however since I am trying to open & maintain the intial layout menu from pre-authored files - it all seems rather daunting. If anyone would care to provide a detailed synopsis of what I need to do, . . I'd appreciate the help.

When you start a new project, select the "Advanced Project -- VMG, VTS Menu + Movie)

Go to File/Attach External VTS -- navigate to your existing DVD (VIDEO_TS folder), and select the VTS_01_0.IFO file -- that will "Attach" the external VTS.

You can setup a menu button in the VMG Menu to link to the Import Menu or Import Movie.
