  1. Hey guys, this is KingChuck.I'm pretty expierence with video editing and using Sony Vegas6, but I have a question. I just got a new camera, which records on miniDVD. When I put the footage onto my computer, it is in .mpg format. And, Sony Vegas can not open .mpeg video formats. I know there is some .mpeg plugin or something that you can get so I'm able to import these videos into Vegas so I can edit them, but I can't find it.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks much guys. 8)

Have you tried just dragging and dropping the video clip onto the timeline ?

Make sure you are running Vegas 6(d). You may not see them listed, but you should be able to drop them on and edit

  3. I have Sony Vegas 6.0. But when I try to import the videos "file", "import", "media", it says I need some extra mpeg plugin of a sort, which I don't have.

If you have correctly registered Vegas you should have all the plugins you need already working. You may have to consult the Sony support forums for a solution.

Your other option is to open the mpegs in virtualdubmpeg2 and save them as DV avi using the Panasonic DV codec.
