    Hello,

have got some subs in .srt-format and want to convert them to DVD Architect 3 compliant format, i.e. DVD Studio Pro or Sonic DVD Creator.

I can convert them, they are in synch etc., but every line-break in Workshop is made into a

-symbol, when looked at in a text-editor AND the trouble is, that these line-breaks make for an extra paragraph in the subtitle events in DVDA, whenever there are two or more lines.

Can anybody help, please? Perhabs I missed/changed a setting in S Workhop accidentally?

That's the way it's supposed to work in DVDA. See manual pg 102-103.

Thanks so far, but the manual I downloaded here: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=631
does not refer to subtitles and their text-format on those pages.
Anyway, I found some explanations, but only to the effect that every imported line will be ordered according to the line-ordering in the imported file: new line in .txt/.sub-file=>spacing in sub. 'event'.

But I have finished two projects with imported subs before in DVDA and it did not happen those times.
I seem to remember, that I once had to remove the 'new paragraph' (the "

") in one of them and afterwards was able to copy the formatting to all sub.-events with the usual right-click etc., and the paragraph disapppeared in every other event as well.

But it does not seem to work now...

Do you or does someone have a suggestion how I could get rid of these superfluous "

", without having to go through hundreds of events one by one?

    Looks like this:
    "ldföxldvm

    kajefblkdfn"

    instead of:
    "lkgnpoj
    kjgnöloj"

    Thanks.

I know I can manually do a [SHIFT]+[ENTER] and it'll do what you want, as opposed to [ENTER] which will give it that space.

That probably means you could use a similar ASCII code in a text/sub editor.

    Try this:

Directly enter a sub in DVDA--the right way. Then do something else, then go back to "Edit Text" and copy. Then paste that in a text editor. See if it's any different than the other(original/wrong) way.
