I see that VisualHub has a WMV option, here's hoping that it is added to the ffmpegX arsenal.

    Thanks!

I'd like less WMV files around, not more!

It's not my favorite, but I have the need to encode into it, it's not bad results, just a coded without much support outside of Microsoft.

"Not bad" you wrote, young padawan

  5. Microsoft will license WMV but not let anybody support for free. Think back to ASF format support in Virtualdub for windows, they had to pull support and have never added wmv support.

I understand the anti-Microsoft tendancy of most Mac fanatics, I try to stand back and not pick a bad guy... The simple situation is that I need to encode video into WMV and the results aren't bad, in fact they are very good at the same bitrate as other codecs like DivX. I'm not saying WMV is better, but it works fine.

It would be really convenient if it were a part of ffmpegX, I'd prefer to not have to mess with VisualHub also just for WMV, even though it has a less cluttered interface than ffmpegX, I appreciate all of the options and how they are layed out by function in ffmpegx.
