  1. I burned a movie using nero latest version. When I play it on my DVD player I can not search for any part of the movie I can use the FF and REW but not move to a part in the movie. When I display the time the time remaining is always zero. Is this the reason that it can't search it does not know how long the movie is. And do you think it is a nero problem.

    Thanks

  2. For me, this issue was Nero...If I made an SVCD image using VCDeasy w/o PBC control...I was able to FF/RW properly...I here the latest version of Nero does not have htis problem though.

  9. I have VCD created by NERO and my DVD player shows "PBC Play" all the time. I think problem is Lot_x.vcd and Psd_x.vcd in the \ext folder. I have some VCD without those files and they work fine. I don't know how to change the template in the NERO.

  10. No.

Nero just creates a dummy PBC system on all its VCDs. This is not an issue -- most/all VCD authoring proggies do this by default.

You can acutally set VCDImager to create a VCD without PBC if you so wish but this should only be relevant for a simple multitrack disc as you cannot have menus, chapters, etc., without PBC: http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd/simple_multitrack.html

Furthermore, you cannot use "time search" while PBC mode is on. A time search will implicitly turn off PBC.

  11. Vitualis, I use the time search on my Apex all the time and I don't remember it messing up the pbc of the disc.....maybe I will try it again and actually pay attention this time

When I say "time search" I mean that you punch a button on the remote and then enter the time on the disc/track (e.g., 30:00 for 30 min). This for every VCD/DVD player I've seen necessarily requires it to disable PBC.

FFW and RWD should not affect PBC in anyway.

  13. Thats right when I search for a time on the svcd it does nothing it does not mater if pbc is on or off. I know it is something to do with latest version of nero as previous version worked ok. but if I use vcdeasy it cured the problem.
