I am currently transferring my DV tape to the computer. I am noticing on each tape that there is quite a bit of audio glitch. I am not sure if this was a result of dirty recording heads, or the fact that I used tapes that were previously recorded on in SP & then switched to LP for my latest project. In either event, if you know of a good program that would help me be able to clean up the glitchy sound please let me know, thanks. The files are Mpeg 2.

I suppose what it sounds like is the audio problem sometimes encountered when ripping/burning a cd. Just a very brief sharp static sound is the best way I can describe it. I did a google search for a program to help, the only tangible hit I found was a program called Glitch Eliminator 2.0, which looked like it would work, but it was designed for Windows 95/NT, and therefore my Vaio (Win XP) will not install & run it properly.

In Soundforge, there is an option to scan the audio file and "mark" every place it hears a giltch. Then you have to go through the entire file and fix them. Time consuming but it does work. I've had to use it and a few disks I've receieved in trades.

thanks maybe I'll try that ($300.00 bucks, yikes!) Can you tell me does it have an auto fixer, or is it all manual? Thanks

I know that Goldwave has an auto feature thatworks well too. I used to use that befoire I went to Soundforge. and yes Soundforge has an auto feature but I haven't used it too much.
