  1. Hi Major,

A few months ago I told you about my problems trying to convert some MPG videos to XVID. I need to convert the videos BUT I also need to rotate them 90° clockwise or counter-clockwise. Of course QuickTime allows me to rotate them, but then it generates .mov files which I can't open with ffmpegX. During our last discussion you told me then that a Rotate feature would be implemented in future versions of ffmpegX.

Do you know now when this feature will be implemented ? My videos are still waiting and I would really appreciate !

I hope this feature will not be too difficult to implement.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jose

    Jose,

Assuming you are using all updated components (.9wr5 & QT7.1.2), ffmpegX will accept a reference movie generated from QT Player Pro. Try that and let us know.

  3. Thanks rumplestiltskin. However I can't try that : I'm running Mac OS X.3.5, so I can't install QT7.1.2, only 6.5.2. Thence my question to Major. I think it would be better to implement the rotate ability into ffmpegX, so I would have only one encoding tool, not two.

It may be that the newer version of ffmpegX corrected the problem it had working with reference movies; the version of QT may not matter. Try it.

  5. Thanks again rumplestiltskin, I'll try it eventually. Please don't take it personally, but I have asked a precise question about the ffmpegX roadmap, and I am simply expecting an answer to that question, not a turnaround with another software. Thanks for your understanding.
