  1. i use nero 7 and dvd shrink. they let you grab chapters (with their audios tracks and subtitles) and make new dvds. but theres no menus. so i used tmpegenc dvd author to create menus (i used the dvd files so the chapters would transfer over too). but now it only has one audio track, no subtitles, and it enlarges the picture so it doesnt fit on the whole screen. is there a way to (preferably with nero 7 or dvd shrink) to make menus so i can have the best of both worlds? there must be a program where you can add menus to dvd files and keep their subtitles and multiple audio tracks. thanks.

I think for subtitles and multiple audio tracks you might try dvd lab pro. Subtitles are a shortcoming of tmpgenc dvd author.

EDIT - Tda 2.0 can have 2 audio tracks but not more from what I can see. But I think its limited to dolby or mpeg audio, I don't think it supports dts.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

You should be able to just do that with DVDShrink. I just use Shrink and IMGBurn instead of Nero for my DVD backups. It works better for me than Nero: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=63869

I don't understand why there would be no menus, unless you are reauthoring in Shrink and deleting them. Or do you mean you are creating DVDs, not backing up commercial DVDs?

AVI2DVD has a menu creator, but I don't see a way to do it separate.

    Try GUIforDVDAuthor or DVDStyler?

Multiple audio tracks and subtitles starts to push you toward the higher end tools, and they do get more complex. That said, it isn't really designed for making menus for existing DVD parts, so you really need to demux the video, audio and subtitle elements out to seperate streams first to get the best results. However, as I said earlier, these programs are not really designed for adding menus to already existing DVDs. They are designed for semi-pro to pro users who don't do this type of thing under normal circumstances.
