    this new computer wont play my divx encoded avi files...i downloaded the latest divx codec and it still says the video codec is missin and will only play the audio....is there another codec i'm forgettin to install? please help

    try gspot. Open the file with gspot and it will tell you what codec you need. It could be an xvid file.

    Or try VLC Media Player as it uses it's own codecs. If it works, then you likely have a codec problem with your installed codecs.

    thank you, i did that and i needed to get divx5 for some reason....but thanks though! appreciate it.
