  1. ok ive been using dvd shrink to copy and burn my movies. and all the movies i copy are well over 5 gigs so i have to end up just burning the movie itself without all the extras to fit it on one disc.
so my question is what program can i use to cut an iso file in half so i can put it on 2 discs? just the movie itself, but i also want to have the dvd menu + extras

any info or help would be appreciated

Open the ISO with DVD Shrink.

  4. ok so ive done it, it just compressed the entire dvd so it would fit on a 4.7gb disc...

is it just me or has the quality gone down quite a bit?

open the iso in DVDShrink, goto the reauthor tab and drag the movie over to the left under dvd structure. Then click on the set start/end frames, Select the first half of the movie, lets say chapters 1-15, then backup and save the new iso as part one, then go back and choose 16-30 then save the next iso as part two.

I'm sure there is a better guide to the left......

Here's a guide that explains the cutting alittle better

  6. well i didnt even have to do that
it was a 7.5 gig disc, but when i opened the iso file with dvd shrink it made it so it would fit on one disc, extras and all
but the quality looked worse.. is that why?

Because anytime you transcode a file(eg MPEG,MP3) to make it smaller you lose some quality, some data must be discarded. There are some things you can do to improve visual quality:enable Deep Analysis, enable AEC,select the movie only.
My rule is:if I have to compress more than 35% I split to two discs.

  8. ok so yeah, i burned one with a shittier quality but with all the extras and everything... but then i went ahead and just burned the movie itself, quality was near perfect, so better quality with less extra crap, yes?
so now that i know, ill be just burning the movie itself, thats all i need, i never even watch extras kinda pointless............
