I have converted files using winavi to dvd format, these files are 4:3 ratio, I put them in dvdlab to make them into a nice dvd with menus and converted it but when i play it on my 27" tv the subs get cut off, i tried changing the aspect ratio to 16:9 in winavi but that just chopped part of the picture and then there were no subs, is there a way to shrink the picture so the subs are moved up??

Are they just cut off at the bottom? Cuz you can use dvdsubedit on the vob files to move the subs up.

Let me guess - anime with fan-subs.

Search for Overscan and FitCD to find hundred of posts on how to fix the problem of fan-subbers having no idea how television works.
