  1. Hello. I tried seaching but have not really found what I need. I'm trying to convert a vfr mkv file to a cfr avi file. So far I have extracted the avi stream and the audio tracks. I cannot get them to sync to save my life. I've used mkv2vfr and have a timecode file but I'm not too sure what to do with it. Any help will be appreciated.

You probably mean VBR MKV and CBR AVI. (Variable Bit Rate, Constant Bit Rate) It sounds like the audio may be VBR also. That can cause sync problems like you describe. Some people that encode MKVs seem to get them completely messed up.

You could do a forum search for 'MKV' and probably find some threads that may help out.

This one comes to mind: https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=304358&highlight=mkv

No they would mean VFR as in Variable Frame Rate. Job done anyway, avi is always CFR, so if you have an avi it is CFR. Unless by chance you meant a CFR avi with the audio in sync?

Yeah, that post has advice on converting to a ~120fps CFR avi with the correct length.
