Hi all
I recently downloaded a movie in Xvid (AVI) format. Had a separate subtitle (.srt) track which I wanted to incorporate.
When I played the movie (without subtitle) it was all fine as far as audio/video sync goes.
Then I used Subtitle Workshop to incorporate the Subtitles. This also seemed to be fine.
However, when I used AVI2DVD to convert the AVI file (with embedded subtitles) to DVD, it did everything fine. But when I tried to playback the DVD files on the computer they wouldn't play on PowerDVD. But they played on Media Player Classic.
I also tried WinAVI with the same result.
Anyway, I used Nero to burn a DVD from the created files. When I played this DVD on the computer and on a standalone player there was approx 5 second difference between picture and sound! (ie the picture was 5 seconds behind the sound).
Please tell me if I can use something else (like REJIG) to adjust the audio track? I noticed that AVI2DVD created an M2V file and was wondering whether I could import this into Rejig and put in something like -5000ms audio delay?
hope for any useful info
many thanks in advance
Satz

Welcome to the forum!
What type of audio you have in the source file? What is the framerate of the source video file? What is the resolution of the source? Is there a delay in the interleaving of the source file?
The answers of all this questions you can find analysing the source file in a software as VirtualDub(Mod) or GSpot.
Some advices:
1. Always analyse your source files (especially downloaded ones).
2. Avoid automatic conversion tools if possible ( and my experience shows that it is possible in every case, I don't use avi2dvd or winavi or you_name_it at all)
