  1. Does anybody know a few details on how the Commercial pressing of CDs and DVDs is achieved?

    I mean, how is the foil duplicated in so many copies and how are they attached to the plastic.

    Not sure which element you're referring to when you say "FOIL".

    In a nutshell,
    Most factories stamp the pits into plastic, apply a reflective (maybe "foil" here) layer by "sputtering" (like machinegun spraying w/ spinning), then do the same for additional layers, all the while sputtering some "glue" layers in between.
    They fill out the remainder of the substrate with polycarbonate filler so it's a smooth full disc.
    Then, they silkscreen the artwork.
