Dont you hate having to dial 0870 numbers (for whatever reason, customer support, telephone banking etc...) that are charged at national rate calls in the UK. Companies using these numbers make around (I think) 2 to 3 pence per minute for the calls.
And most of all, if you have free land line calls or fee mobile calls in your package, these numbers are not included.
Well, I found an alternative website that lists alnetnative to 0870 numbers that gives you the same options as ringing the 0870 number:

Very useful, and you can use your free minutes when dialling the alternative number. In some cases, it even list a freephone 0800 number to the 0870 number.
Just like to pass the information on.
Remember that when dialling the alternative number (for UK) to dial 141 before the number.

It's odd how things vary from country to country. Here in the US you would have trouble finding a number that wasn't toll free for the things you mentioned. Usually for a machine but if you punch enough buttons you'll find a human eventually. :P
