  1. I'm looking for recommendations for MPEG-2 capture software that can adjust audio lower as its being captured because I have old VHS tapes that when captured have loud noise in parts.

    Thanks for any help.

  3. I have Nero 6 as a trial and I don't see anything for capturing.

  4. I havenīt used Nero for capturing and donīt really know if it has what you need. I have Premiere 6.5 and you adjust the audio AFTER you have captured it. I also have studio 9.4 (it came with my Studio Deluxe card, wich can capture from analog sources and also capture MPEG "on the fly"); Studio 9.xx also has video and audio settings that you can adjust when you capture from analog (like your VHS tapes), you can control input volume, image contrast, brightness and color, etc...I think it does just what you need (provided you have a capture card with analog inputs). One last thing is that I only use Studio 9 for capturing video, I donīt edit it with it (Premiere is much better ) and neither try to do any authoring with it (it īs too buggy and crash prone), just capture.

  5. Ok thanks, I presume you mean Pinnacle Studio 9? if so, I'll try a trail run and see how it goes.

  6. Ok, got Pinnacle 10 and it says I need 512mb minimum memory and the max I have is 512mb. So looks like I need alternatives.

  8. You can use any software because when you capture analog(using a PCI card) you can adjust the volume by using Windows volume control->Line-In:

If you capture analog with a USB device you need a mixer between the VCR and PC,if you capture through a camcorder via firewire then between VCR and camcorder:

  9. It's USB and I don't see myself shelling out more money for a mixer. Thanks for your help anyway. There must be some kinda software out there.
