  1. I'm wanting to take all of my son's baby einstein movies and rip them to XViD so I can make playlists in Media player for shuffling. I've been trying to look through all the guides for DVD to XViD and as they all look okay, I'm wondering if there's a decent program out there that is more simplified but still looks good. At this point I'd rather pay money for a good program then use something that comes out looking crappy. (for example, I downloaded simpledivx and gave it a shot, but in the end movies were choppy, or they looked de-interlaced or something like that... ya know... horizontially seperated in movement... odd... I'm sure you all know EXACTLY what it's called that I'm talking about).

Anyway.... the real question is, is there anything good out there that I can pay for that is also simple? Or, I'd even take a "pay for a couple of these apps and here's a good guide".

    Thanks for your help!

All have their fans and are well regarded for this type of conversion. All of them have guides, although something like avi.net is so simple it doesn't really need one. In pretty much all cases they will deinterlace if it wasn't progressive to begin with.
