you can't multiplex mpg video with wav using tmpgenc. convert the audio to mp2 or ac3 using for example ffmpeggui and you can multiplex.

or if you are making a dvd then just add the m2v and wav when authoring with for example tda.

  3. I am using goldwave to convert my audio file
but the format mp2 or ac3 are not available
can I choose another one ?

The result file is for authoring a dvd when the audio will be ok

I don't think you understood Baldrick. Let me put it another way...

You want to make a DVD.
DVDs' media is made up of VOB files.
VOB files are like a "Super" MPEG2 program stream (in that they can have ADDITIONAL material that normally isn't allowed in MPEG2 program streams -- like LPCM audio, subtitles, text, NAVIGATION data)
You want to multiplex (mux) a video stream (m2v) with an audio stream ("wav").
WAV is (by default) an LPCM audio stream with headers/wrappers tacked on.
You're trying to mux them into a STANDARD mpeg2 program stream.

    Won't work.

With ANY standard MPEG2 program stream muxer.

You really want to mux them into a VOB file.
You can easily do that--BY AUTHORING A DVD. The authoring software incorporates a VOB muxer. That's the only way you can mux to a vob.

I think you might be worried that you can't use the separate elementary (audio & video) streams as sources without muxing them first. Don't worry. Hardly any authoring app has this requirement--most happily accept separate streams. Those that don't are hopelessly "newbie" in orientation, IMHO. Meaning they probably only let you use MP2 as audio anyway, which isnt' the most compliant for NTSC users...

OTOH, AC3 and MP2 audio can be pre-muxed into a MPEG2 Program stream, with standard muxers like TMPGEnc.

Those are the 3 formats you should be working with (could do DTS--but you have to walk before you can run, and you'd have to have one of the others as 1st stream anyway).
