What does that got to do with inhibiting re-encoding?

Well if I follow what is said at that like I wind up creating an AVI file or an MPEG file but what I want is a DVD file (IFO and VOB files).

Am I getting things all mixed up?

    I start a project.

I capture an already existing DVD movie. The movie is on the hard drive in a folder and the folder has AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders and in the VIDEO_TS folder are some IFO and VOB files.

After capturing these video files, VS converts them to MPEG files and then puts the thumb nails up. I select the thumb nails and put them in the time-line. Do a little editing here and there. Now I want to write that video back out to the hard drive and I want it in the same format as it was when I captured it. This means I have to select "Create Disc", not "Create Video File" as that link pointed out. From there I select create DVD folder and here is where the 6 1/2 hours takes place.

Why would I want to create an MPEG ouput file by selecting "Create Video File"? That's not going to do me any good because my DVD players only plays DVD files.

    Am I missing something here?

  3. I posted the link to explain what SmartRender is,as for render time your CPU is slow and it's going to take awhile to "Create Disc".
    I'm done...good luck.
