You can try MediaInfo, select file->open->folder and choose the video_ts folder on the dvd to get details.

If you have PowerDVD installed it will show you bitrate of audio/video on the fly while movie playing. just right click on movie and select show information.

GSpot is best for providing a quick indication of your DVD files. Bitrate Viewing is another one for finding out the finer details of the Mpeg files.

The Teco Bitrate Viewer (http://www.tecoltd.com) can do this and I think this is what levick is talking about. While I do like and use Gspot, in my experience it not always a great tool for looking at MPEG files. Several times I've used it to look at an MPEG file and had it return absolutely nothing useful about the bitrate of the audio or video.

Your DVD Recorder manual just might contain the specs also
    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. Just let me tell you that you set recording mode in hours.ITs mode 1 called "m1" with total duration of 1 hour, then m2,m2.5 m3 m4 and m6.

So how much is like 1hour mpeg2 4.37gb and 2 hours 4.37gb.IT's just math, even a dvd bitrate calculator could give me a bitrate,is there one for this specific use?

    Thanx for your answers.

If you wanted to get a general idea of what bitrates your player would use (assuming no further information given on your recorder makers website), you could try a tool like VideoCalc and input times, audio bitrate (if known/check in GSpot etc), and set for DVD5.. Short of more detailed recording mode info on the makers site, this should give you a somewhat accurate guess as to what the leels would be.

MPEGProperties - It does video: resolution, fps, bitrate etc. and audio: codec and bitrate etc.

    And it's free.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.
