  1. I have Windows XP and had problems playing DVDs, it said I didn't have the correct decoder or something. Anyway I researched it and found a freeware solution at www.xpcodecpack.com . Using Media Player 10 I still have problems however it comes with Media Player Classic which solves the problem. This is great however when I insert a DVD it displays some options including Play DVD which tries to play it using Media Player 10. Is there anyway of making it default to Media Player Classic instead?

    Thanks

  2. You would need to go into windows explorer and click on tools - then select folder options - then select file types - Find dvd and change the opens with to Media Player Classic.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

In MPC under View->Options and under Player->Format select DVD under the autoplay.

If it wont help try right click on the DVD in the explorer and select Properties and check what it says under AutoPlay.

edit: this is about autoplay...but you might want that also....

That may be the original. I believe this is the improved version.
