Nero 6 problem (updated)

funny thing happened to my Nero vision. I converted a few avi's on sunday, everyting as fine. Last night i try to do some more and when i select make your own dvd in Vision the menu opens but only lets me select a vcd or svcd. Software wise i have not done any changes since the last time it worked. Any suggestions? thanks

Have you tried to reinstall?

It sounds like it may have lost the fact that it is registered. Isn't the mpeg2/authoring component seperately licensed ?

Have you done a registry cleanup recently that might have deleted something it shouldn't have ?

i dont think so but i'll have to check, i'll do a re install... the only thing i added was NOD32 would that have freaked Nero? but i had that installed for about 6 weeks.

oddly enough i have fixed the problem but now it makes me think...

what has been happening is my dvd drives have disappeared so Nero was not seeing any drives to create a dvd with, now for the 3rd time. I can fix this by performing a system restore a few days back but what is causing this?? The only thing i have installed that i think coul dbe to blame is a video editing program that came with my dvd camcorder. It would have started around the same time. Would any anti-virus/spy be messing with drivers?? Any thoughts or suggestion would be great thanks.
