    Hi guys (and ladies),

I have a problem - bought a DVD recently and guess what, there is a Russian translation on top of the audio stream so all I can hear is 'Da,da,net,net,molotov...' . I'm sure it was put on top of the original audio file, so...is there a way to get rid of this annoying translation?

    Thanks for your help.

    no, https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1476868#1476868

but if you want to try filter it out use pgcdemux or dvddecrypter to rip out the audio and use an audio editor....but it is not worth it.

  3. The only thing I can think of is that if you could find the audio for it in its original language somewhere, then you could re-author your DVD using the new audio while keeping the DVD video quality, menus, etc., providing you have a DVD burner.

I did this once when the DVD I bought had a heavily censored soundtrack. I found an .avi file of the film with original audio, and reauthored my DVD. It took some work, but I did it.

    No, what's overwritten is overwritten.

As others said, if you find the original language sound track somewhere you can extract that and reauthor the DVD, but not worth the trouble, if you got it extra-legally the first place.
