  1. I know people hate having movies on two CDs... I hear Shizzon and everyone else arguing about how to get an entire movie onto one CD. Here's my method... please, don't spread it around too much, I might try to repackage it and sell it one day.

First, I capture the movie with VirtualDub. Then, I go through and cut out the boring scenes until I am left with about 79 1/2 minutes of video. Convert that to MPG, burn as VCD using Fireburner.

It's failproof. And honestly, every movie has boring scenes that aren't needed anyways. And if you're sitting around watching movies for longer than 79 1/2 minutes, you need to get outside anyways.

Wow, almost cool, but i'm not going to sit around and watch for the boring scenes, maybe you should go and get outside.

  3. Hmm? I was saying to delete them out... that way you get the good parts and can still live on with your life!

Just try your method with Matrix, or any Looney Toon Cartoons...
    Don't mention Babylon 5...

Years before in US, when they first "paint" black & White movies, they do some tricks like speed up some scenes, etc... The point was to make the movies about 85min, so to get more ad time.
I remember watching casablanca... He he he... Bogard was a really fast smoker on this movie version...

  6. Although it sounds like a joke, I seriously do this all the time. Most movies, after removing the previews and credits, runs about 83-85 minutes. I couldn't stand having two discs for that... so I erase a few minutes and get it to 80 minutes. If it's a long movie (I'm assuming Matrix is long, but pretty much anything over 90 minutes), then I split it to two CDs. But if it has the potential of fitting on one CD, I do it. Besides, after you watch the movie a few times, you start to forget that missing scene ever existed... and if you watch the real version of the movie, it's like watching a regular movie with deleted scenes added... yet another bonus!

  7. Are you saying any divx movie made with into a VCD with TMPGENC that is 79 min long will fit onto 1 cd? That is 79min of move = 79 min of VCD? Or are you editing out scenes from the .mpeg file ? Do you do something with settings?
    Quote Quote
  8. I never said anything about divx. I've never used it and don't know anything about it.

What I do... is I capture using AVI_IO to AVI... edit the movie down to 79 minutes 30 seconds... then use TMPGEnc and convert to MPG.

But as far as I know... yes, if you have a divx movie that is 79 minutes and 30 seconds and convert that to MPG, then it'll fit onto a 80 minute CD. There's no reason it wouldn't, since the VCD file will be the same size.

I don't know anything about editing divx files or even mpg files... I only edit AVI files (using VirtualDub) and edit perfectly so you never even knew the scene was there to start with.

I'm doing this with Pearl Harbor. I fully expect the good parts to fit onto one CD-R. When I opened up the thread I was thinking that you were going to say something like glue to CD-R's togather back to back. I've been expecting double sided CD-R's for a while.

  10. That's a great idea... I bet if you eliminated the crap aka love story from Pearl Harbor, you'd have an awesome 25 minute movie.

Well, I can burn a movie in One disc, vcd format. in fact, i burned like 150min on a cd!(it was Robin Hood in 1 VCD!)
just encode the mpg with tmpenc, at 610 kbit/sec, 352x240, and in the "System" settings, check -- mpg1 video cd (non-standar)--- next you bunr it with nero as Standart complaint vcd... and thats it. at 610kbit/sec you can fit 120min in one cd, but, you have to encode the mpg directly from dvd or a veeery good quality avi or other file, or the image quality will be awful.
I have almost all my movies in one cd.
    hope i helped you.

Yes, my edit will include the attack scene, the Dolittle raid (just the raid and aftermath itself), with some porn thorwn in at the end for filler material. I'll call it the zzyzzx edit

  13. Problem with that is that your format isn't VCD, it's xVCD. My DVD player doesn't support xVCD.

The good thing about my method is it's VCD format, it's more compatable in most players, and you don't have to sacrifice quality at all. Your method is cutting the bitrate by more than half... mine is great, you still get 1150kbps, and you don't have to sit through boring parts of movies.

    Foolproof!

  14. What a great concept... in the middle of the battle, feed in some army porn. Make your own storyline for it... what's a good name for it? Pearl Necklace Harbor? Oral Harbor? Oh I like that second one...

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they were talking about a porn called Scooby Goo. What a great name for a movie!

  16. This morning I'm getting working on my new movie... I'm just going to trim the best scenes from all of hollywood blockbusters, throw in some porn, and be set!

  17. i think the speed up method should be looked at.. imagine lord of the rings (3 hours) sped up to be 79 minutes

if the chipmunk soundtrack bothers you , you can process the sound with cool edit.. it can shrink the track to 79 minutes while keeping the pitch correct.

I just delete all the clothes scenes and some of the clothes removal ( I hate all that foreplay crap anyway This leaves me with a new movie, worthy of a new title... I'm now the proud owner of "100% Money Shots Gold" a completely original work of art

Well, I'm working on the Bong ACDC version of Pearl Harbour.
That's the Arm Chair Director's Cut(copyright). Basically very few scenes that don't include planes, boats, or bombs. The whole movie is about 20 mins long and should be about 1000 times better. What a sh*tty movie. I was praying for the Japanese to attack.

Any Movie - ONE CD - Failproof Ultimate Method inside!
What a joke Cutting the boring parts out filling it with porn etc etc is not a movie on 1 cd not even close if you call a handfull of scenes with a bit of porn thrown in a movie on 1 cd then you are a bigger joke than this post is. A movie on 1 cd is just that a full lenght movie on 1 cd not a few scenes on a cd

Another fun thing you can do is where the movies leave out the "money shot" you can cut and paste one in from a porno movie.

  26. How exactly, are you gonna "sell" this? All of the programs you are using are freeware. And you can't really sell a piece of paper that says "Cut out the boring scenes"

The idea that he would sell it one day was a joke.
He was being serious when he said that he edits out the crap.
