On to my next immediate hurdle now, which is the graphics problems associated with the window resizing in MPC, if I simply import a directory of videos into MPC and let it run, it works perfect, only when I try to resize the default small window that I am having major graphics problems and I have to reboot the system.
Manually dragging the sides and top/bottom does no good becuase when the next video in the playlist begins, the screen goes back to default. I then tried using the various zoom settings including the auto-fit feature and even though I have "Remember last window size" in Options checked, it still goes back to default when the next video plays, I can't see that I am doing anything wrong, if anyone reading this has MPC, can you PLEASE see if you can resize the window using any method and tell me if the window will stay resized for all videos in the playlist? Another have tried and have told me that only in fullscreen mode will I get the window to stay any other way than default but I am hoping soomeone here has come up with a solution.

Thank you very much, that did it! One final issue [I hope] which I am facing is that I am having graphics problems whenever I use the "skip forward" button, if I let the videos in the playlist play on their own, it's fine but if I try to skip to the next video the pc screen starts flickering like crazy and I have to manually shut down the pc after readinf these error messages:
"Problem caused by the file ialmrnt5
ialmnrt5 display driver has stopped working normally
The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or the device driver"
This problem I am getting is only with MPC and my graphics drivers are all up to date so now with these error messages, what can I do to solve this problem please? -

Yesterday, in MPC I went options-->output-->vmr9 and vmr7 renderless and this appears to be working, I will know for sure later today when I will really test it.
Appreciate your link, I went through the instructions and just before installing the driver, I got this message:
"Installing this device driver is not recommended because windows cannot verify that it is compatible with your hardware. If the driver is not compatible, your hardware will not work correctly and your computer might become unstable or stop working completely. Do you want to continue installing this driver?"
I chose not to install until I know for sure what's going on here and also becuase I may have found a fix as mentioned above. From your experience [and I won't hold you to this], what would you do after reading that message, just asking your opinion if you don't mind please? -
Well, you *do* realize that link points to Intel 915G, right?
I can't guarantee you have a 915G...

Bring up the playlist sub-window, right-click on it and select 'Save As...' The .mpcpl file this creates is basically a text file that you can edit/view and print. (Note that there's additional (comma-delimited) data in there as well, as well as a header, and full paths/filenames for the entries in your playlist, so depending on what you want to have printed, you'll probably want to edit the list a little.)

Are you trying to save the entire playlist?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
I simply wish to print the names of all video files I have either in my hard drive or playlist.
-
Right-clicking on the playlist window (on an item or a blank space) and selecting "Save As..." should allow you to save the whole playlist to an .mpcpl (text) file. I just tried it with an example playlist, and the result was something like this (files and paths edited):
MPCPLAYLIST
1,type,0
1,filename,1.avi
2,type,0
2,filename,2.avi
3,type,0
3,filename,3.avi
4,type,0
4,filename,4.avi
There are ways of printing out directory listings - a few applications do this, from small dedicated utilities to large file managers, but I never really looked into it... the few times I've had to do it, in the past, I usually just dropped into DOS and basically used
dir > filename.txt
...and printed the resulting text file, which would be written to the same directory. And that works with wildcards, too.If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
well yes, it does this but when I try to open the mpcpl file I get a prompt stating that
"windows cannot open this file, it needs to know which program created it ......" -
Rename the extension to .txt .

Hey cool, got it, I will have to see if I can use maybe MSWord or something to delete the unnecessary stuff, just out of curiosity, if using DOS, are you saying that there is a way you can print from DOS and don't get the unnecessary stuff?
-
Word's probably overkill for simple, small textfile editing.
(Unless you want to do a lot of editing with the resulting file list, add styles, etc.) You can also try Notepad/Wordpad, in a default Windows setup, for simple text editing.
If you're seriously interested in printing directory listings, I'd suggest looking at whatever freeware/shareware utilities are out there for doing that - they may have filters (and so forth) you can select to filter out the information you don't want in the resulting printout.
The DOS method I use doesn't filter out all the additional information you'll see if you do a 'dir' command on any directory. Here's an example (of a VDubMod directory, with certain things edited out, including the HD volume information):

Whenever I choose fullscreen mode it shows sideways, don't see an option to rotate the screen, help?
-
Okay, an FLV splitter may help, but I make no guarantees.
Download Gabest's FLV Splitter here:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/guliverkli/flvsplitter_20060320.7z?download
It's packed in a .7z (7Zip) archive, so if you don't have a way to unpack 7z archives, the official unpacker is available at http://www.7-zip.org/ .
celtic_druid also has some newer builds (CVS?) of the FLV Splitter, but I'm not sure whether or not it would be preferable to install one of those as opposed to this one (stable build?).
You're running XP, so use the version of FLVSplitter.ax found in the Release Unicode directory in the archive. Drag the file to, say, your Windows or Windows\system directories (or at least a directory on the PATH).
Then, pick the Run command from the Start menu (a DOS/command window will work as well, whichever method you find easier), and type "regsvr32" without the quotes. Add a space after that, then - assuming you still have an Explorer window open to where you dropped FLVSplitter.ax - drag FLVSplitter.ax onto the Run command line, or the DOS window. That should automatically add the file and full path to the command line, so that it looks something like this:
regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\FLVSplitter.ax
(You could also type it out on your own, of course.) Then, press Enter. You should see a notice that FLVSplitter's been registered. Now, try playing the FLV in full-screen again, and see if that helped.
(If, for some reason, you want to uninstall FLVSplitter.ax, you can follow the same procedure - just add "/u" after "regsvr32" (without the quotes on either).)

Really really appreciate the help but unfortunately this didn't help solve this problem. Anything else I can try?
-
Hmm... I suspected the splitter might not help, since you said you were only having the problem when you switched to full-screen, but I thought I'd make sure.
In MPC's options, in the Playback section, there's a checkbox for "Change fullscreen resolution:", which will enable the drop-down below it. You might try picking a different fullscreen resolution, to see if it helps (probably a good idea to remember what it's set to by default, though).
Also, in Playback > Output, you can try changing the renderers (again, make a note of what they're currently set to), to see if that helps, as well.If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
Apparently, changing the resolution as you've suggested did the trick! Changed from the default 768x1024 to 1024x768 and this apparently did it! Thank you very much for all of the help! Catch up with you on the next issue, whatever that will be!
