I've been using DVDShrink successfully for a month or so. Here's the problem: I have 3 tv shows on separate DVD's (each approx. 51 min. each). I want to put all 3 on one disk. I downloaded each one to the hard drive with DVDDecrypter successfully. I brought up DVDShrink, did 'Re-author', selected/expanded each title and moved each one over to the left window. (I've done this many times before). As I was doing this, I got a video preview of each one just like I always do. Then I hit 'backup', selected 'deep analysis' and it started chugging away just like always. About 12% into the analysis, it failed with a message about there already being a file by that name (sorry, I've lost the original message). Just for the heck of it, I deleted the output file being created by Shrink and tried to start over again. It picks up in the analysis phase right from where it left off, about 12% into it. It went on and did the rest of the analysis. About 12% into the encoding, it failed again, without giving any reasons. I deleted the output file again, got out of Shrink, went back into Shrink and reloaded each title. This time I didn't get a preview screen of any of the titles (I assume that's because it has already done the "deep analysis"). Hit 'Backup' and it starts off at the beginning of the encoding phase. It fails again near the same spot. I deleted the Shrink output file again, and also deleted and re-decrypted the first title, which was the one it was in when it failed. Once again, when I move the title over to the left window in Shrink, it doesn't give a preview, even though it is a newly decrypted copy. Do 'Backup' and once again it starts up at the beginning of the encoding phase, (the "deep analysis" is grayed out.) Same thing. Fails near the same spot.
Bad video in title 1? I still have the original tape that I made it from, so maybe I have to make a new single DVD of it before trying Shrink again?
BTW, how do you get Shrink to competely start over? That is, do the "deep analysis" again. It looks like it always remembers where it was even though I gave it a newly decrypted copy of one of the titles.

Delete the analyslis data to start fresh. From the Digital-Digest Forum:
Where does DVD Shrink save it's analysis data?
DVD Shrink analysis files can be found in the following hidden folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DVD Shrink
To show hidden files/folders:
Windows Explorer >> Tools >> Folder Options >> View >> Hidden files and folders >> Show hidden files and folders.
For Win ME, it appears to be stored in a folder (not hidden) located here:
C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\DVD Shrink
Why is it a hidden folder?
The Application Data folder is created by Windows, not DVD Shrink. Microsoft decided to make it hidden.
You can change it though. Just right click the folder, choose properties, and uncheck the hidden box.

I'd try deleting the analysis file.
In Windows ME it would be located in "C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\DVD Shrink"
folder. Look for the most recent date and something like " Analysis Results.7528e874r", assuming it
was your most recent analysis.
You'll see all your movies analysises there but wont be able to identify which is which.
Hence look for your most recent project and just delete that one to reset DVDShrink. -
Thanks again, everybody. That took care of it as far as getting DVDShrink to start fresh. I wound up having to recapture the video 1 title. I had a similar problem before. The title giving me trouble was one I re-authored (with ArcSoft ShowBiz) a while back to make some changes to menus. Maybe re-authoring changes the structure somewhat? I don't know. Anyway, I recaptured it from the original tape, "burned" it to a virtual disk with Nero and successfully shrank it with DVDShrink and all is well now.
