Is it a dv camera? You need to use a firewire port for the best transfer. Some won't see usb at all. Though some do.

EDIT - Is it a direct dvd recorder? Does it record straight to a dvd? Then you can use dvd decrypter or dvd shrink to copy the dvd disc files to the pc and open the video_ts folder in your editing program.

sony 6d will import that crap format --

you have to use camcorder import setting as in your manual and instructions and the help file and the sheet that came with the software in the box ...and also instructed on the sony web site and forums and sony support ..

what do you mean ? other than having to provide proof of purchase - you can register right away ...

did you read the sheet that came with the software in the box ? it explains a lot of how to use dvd created by those stupid camcorders ... though in many cases it is sill a pain ... really - those camcorders are just not really meant to be edited ..

If you are adding additional video to a "not yet full" -R disc...then that is a shame. I'm afraid you need to wait until the disc is full in order to do any computer work on the DVD.
But if you are talking about an RW disc....finalizing doesn't mean squat on an RW. They can always be erased on a computer no matter what they are finalized on.

RW means Rewritable - Finalized or not!

Rewritable just means you can erase the disk and reuse it, doesn't mean you can add to it.
