I'm a bit late but, I would absolutely LOVE if the NBC show "Ed" would be released on DVD. Many fans have been pushing for it but I doubt anytime soon if it will be realeased with the music rights holding up the process.

WOW. Nice to see you're still here Babyboo. My wife likes that show too. I'd be happier if Captain Marvel Serials went on DVD. Now that's quality TV.

Although there is currently a box-set for "My So Called Life", I'd like to see something with more extras to justify the cost of $150. It's one of my favorite shows of all time. It deserves the deluxe treatment.

  5. It's $150 because it's OOP. I paid $69 or something like that for them not long after they were released.

The cartoon series The Tick. I love that show

The live action show has been out on DVD for a while, and it's great, but the cartoon was the best!

It actually has been on an Out Of Print DVD. I see it at Comi-cons here & there. Authentic retail, not bootlegs.

Those things are havens for bootlegs, and just because it's on a pressed disc does not mean it was ever released at retail.

I also have never found the tick animated series to have ever been released officially on dvd.

It was released officailly in 2003 and went immediately into out-of-print status 6 months later. Not exactly sure why, ......but on a remastered disc with special features, it is being released 8/29/06. Check out Some of the Buena Vista Disey sites. :/

I read the live series was released on dvd in 2003 and this...

According to TVShowsOnDVD, Disney Home Video will release the first season of The Tick on DVD on August 29, 2006 [1]. According to Disney's press release, the boxset will contain only 12 of the 13 first-season episodes. On May 31st, 2006, Disney released the following statement regarding the missing episode: "Due to creative considerations episode 11 ("The Tick vs. The Mole Men") is not included. However, we hope to include it in future Tick releases." [2] The set is available for pre-order at online retailers.

That's all i've been able to find, i've never heard anything about it being released and pulled ?
Either way it will be cool to get it on dvd!! Except the jackasses leaving an episode out

Me too. But whenever I get a chance to watch it I always seem to catch the same episodes - The Tick Vs. Science, The Tick Vs. Authors Bank Account, and The Tick Vs. Mr. Mental. And while those are funny episodes, I would like to see the others

Two other shows I would love to see come out onDVD are:
A short lived Bob Newhart and Judd Hirsch show called "George and Leo".
Another short lived show with Tony Shalhoub called "Stark Raving Mad".

Two very, very funny shows. But they will probably never make it to DVD

The pulled episode may have been the reason for the release. I don't know for sure. That's up to the company releasing it. All I know is that it was released and pulled. And now they are releasing it again. You've probably found more information as to why it was pulled in the first place, though you may not have been able to find anything regarding the first release. I'll try and dig for some sites. OOP stuff is so dang hard to find. I know as I search for the dang stuff all the time. Wouldn't need half my video equipment if I could find it.

Why can't I find the complete collection of the Smurfs on DVD? Wouldn't you think that show was popular enough to be put on DVD? It's so hard to find anything Hanna-Barbera in DVD box set as a complete collection.

They said the same thing for The greatest American Hero and it came 2 years after the stated date. Amazing Stories was delayed for 3 years. We'll see what happens.

I used to watch "the Apprentice", the first 2 seasons of American Idol (OK, only half of the second season), and a few episodes of some of the others. I never really cared enough for them to want to buy them on DVD. That's like getting seasons of Jeopardy on DVD. Why the heck would I want to rewatch game shows over & over. Maybe see it in a rerun 5-10 years from now...maybe.

Transformers & GI Joe are shows I still watch on a regular basis after I bought them on DVD. My son watches them with me all the time. Even Looney Tunes & Disney Classics. I'm glad they are bringing them out to DVD.
