high definition to divx

but i have just downloaded some hd trailors from the divx site, and i am getting a toshiba upscale dvd player.

my question is if i copy these trailors onto dvdr in divx format, would it output high def in 1080 on my plasma tv?

or is there some software out there to convert, as i can't afford a hd-dvd player yet.

i don't think the toshiba player supports divx in hd. you must reconvert to lower resolution with autogk,virtualdub or dr.divx.
