I have been trying to convert the audio of a DVD that I have from LPCM to AC3 and don’t know how to go about doing this particular disc. I have done this conversion quite a few times successfully using the first several steps of this as a guide https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=234240 (I use VOB Blanker to insert the new AC3 encoded VOB files back into the original DVD structure). I have also successfully converted a DVD with several titles from LPCM to AC3 before but I have never encountered one with several combined titles and more than one PGC per title.

This particular DVD has several combined titles when viewed in DVD Shrink. For example, titles 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, along with 9 and 10 are combined. When separated in DVD Shrink, several titles end up in the special features directory.

I started by demuxing title 3. When I opened IfoEdit to create the cell times file, I noticed two separate PGCs are associated with title 3. Both are different lengths so I don’t think that I can use just one PGC one to create the cell times file. Or can I? Is there some way to remux the audio and video and create new AC3 encoded VOB files that I can insert back into the original DVD structure?

    Thank you.

I've been doing some thinking about how to do this. If I remux the video and the newly created AC3 audio using only one of the cell times files and then use VOB Blanker to insert the resulting VOB files into the original DVD structure, will I get a functioning DVD?

I guess it's worth a try to see what happens.
