I've tried a couple freeware/shareware programs to record audio passing thru my sound card, but the result is barely audible. I turned up the Volume Control window. The recording audio options from my card, in the various software, has been only "Line in, Mic, Rear Mic."
Any ideas what else to adjust to make the recording the same as what's inputted?

I use Total Recorder and haven't had that problem. To me, it was $12 well spent.

Tried the demo for Total Recorder (now Eighteen dollars) - VERY impressive (after I fiddled with some quicktime settings to fix static/reverb). Records from whatever media player is working rather than the sound card.
I'm still curious why the other ware doesn't work properly. People either had no problem, or the same low volume, so I'm thinking it's some computer/sound card issue, maybe in computer setup?
