I have a very old VHS which is probably the 20th generation or more of the tape. It contains trailers and commercials that I have up on my website for download.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to restore these....or if i'm just screwed because it really is so bad off?

Here is an example...of course the video is also encoded into asf so it loses more quality there, but you can see how bad it is anyhow

Please note: I do not have the cash to buy anything to do this...so I'm just looking to find out if I can do it, and if I can what freebie things I need

You need some hardware to fix that. It has to be done in the analog domain, not on a computer in software.

its pretty bad...i doubt theres much you can do to fix it unless you plop out a lot of dough on hardware.
