Is there a way to determine if any frames are being dropped when capturing TV? If so, where can I find this info? My old ATI card and software stated this in plain sight.

You shouldn't worry about it. You have to try very hard to get WinTV2000 to drop frames when capturing from one of Hauppauge's PVR series cards.

That's good to hear. Still, is there some kind of indicator that will let me know if it ever happens?

No. There are no statistics or diagnostic information in Win 2000 TV.
I've used Hauppauge's PVR series for many years and never saw it drop frames. -
The only time I've seen WinTV2000 drop frames is when I deliberately tried. I ran defrag on the drive I was capturing to, chkdsk on another drive, a webcam capture program, and a 3d game, all at the same time. The recorded MPEG file had a few noticable skips.
