Mobile 3gp video problem with QT7

I have various mp4 videos (MPEG-4 176x144) I want to export to 3gp with the video set to pass through as I don’t need to re-encode the video track just the audio from AAC to AMR-NB, QT is set to 3GPP (mobile MP4) file size goes from 1019kb to 163kb (pass through video) all i get is "Failed (-108)"
The same happens on other mp4 videos too, any ideas?

It's not going to help you much, but I've had similar problems in the past. I think it is because we cannot (are not allowed to) passthrough mp4s. In some cases I solved it by going to an intermediate format.

FWIW the 3gp content I ended up with was lousy. Framerates were terrible, and the picture was very blurry. If you can get any sort of mp4 playback software for your phone do that instead (for instance SmartMovie is fantastic), the quality is tons better.

But the problem is only since QT7 with 6.x versions i could use passthrough with no probs.

Hmm in that case I must be mistaken. I recall having loads of problems trying to passthrough video on anything except AVIs. However it's been a while. FWIW my QT7 cannot passthrough any of the test files I just threw at it, the option is greyed out. If you could passthrough an mp4 in QT6.x and the same mp4 doesnt work with QT7 that sounds like a bug. Good luck with that
