Hey guys,
I am trying to find the fastest way to replace a subtitle into a back-up dvd.
I was looking for some aplications able to do this easy: rip it and put it back together with one of the subtitles replaced. All the menus and chapters are untouched. I mean, let's say the DVD has english, french and spanish subtitles and I want to replace spanish with polish, so when I select spanish subtitle in the menu....I get polish. Let's say the polish subtitle is syncronized line by line so there's no issue here.
Is there any software able to do this ? Does DvdReMake do this ? Since this is a simple replacement of a subtitle (a file)....I presume there should be a software there, able to do this....simple and fast.
Any ideas ?

Hehe, but it can be done. Demux the video using PGCDemux, making sure to check the video box. You'll get the current subtitles in SUP format. You'll need the replacement subs in the same format. If SRT now, then use SRT2SUP. If in IDX/SUB format, then use SUBToSUP. Remux, replacing one of the SUP files with the new one. Use Muxman for the job (the chapters are found in the Celltimes.txt file). Open the original DVD in VobBlanker. Click on the video to make it appear in the lower screen and hit the "Replace" button. Scroll to your new DVD with the new subs and then Process after giving a destination. Test.
If you want your remote to show the new subs in their proper language, open the new DVD in PGCEdit and change the former language to the new one. I'll let you figure out where to do that. It's not hard to find. And if you want to edit the Subtitle menu to replace the old sub language with your new one, then follow this guide:

Might as well do it right, don't you think? As Abond said, neither simple nor fast. But just think of the sense of accomplishment you'll get after you complete this job. -
Thanks for the detailed reply. I remember trying this: demux, replace sub and mux back and not working for whatever reason. I did the demux and mux back with Rejig at the time, but I'll try PGCDemux.
I don't really care if the menu shows the original language (let's say "spanish") and it really is (let's say ) polish. What I care is the simplicity of the procedure and its reliability. I'll give it a try today.
Thanks again.
