cant capture my jap console game

hi

im trying to capture a console game over my tvcard with virtual dub
i have a pinnacle pctv rave
the game is a jap game and im playing it on my pal gamecube with a freeloader
but when it shows the game on the screen the picture is 1/3 over the top and is comig out from below again
so the top of the screen is at the bottom
i tryed to change all of the region codes but it doesnt help

if u can help me i would really apreciate it ^^

sounds like a referencing problem. If the game is Japanese it would probably be NTSC so playing it out of a PAL box may be the problem, however it could be the in from the gamecube is out of whack. try running it through a TBC and see if that helps (you could try and use a VHS player etc as your TBC if you don't own one). another thing to try would be to check the settings of your card i.e. fiddle about with which standard is coming in etc. may well help. or maybe not.

tried this one
used a vcr and a dvd-recorder same prob
but the funny thing is the problem occurs just when its connected to a vcr/dvd-recorder or to the tv-card in my pc
when its connected to the tv only it works perfectly and thats where i get confused ^^
