Sorry if I've been posting similar questions under different indexes because no one seems to be answering my question.

I'm trying to convert rmvb(real) files to mp4 but is encountering problems with ffmpegX. Any other application that can do the job?

Am using a Mac running on Tiger.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

Possible the rmvb already has mp4 compatible aac audio. Really depends on the age of the file, since older encodes would use cook audio.

Thanks guys! I've got it converted. Quality is not that bad. I don't really care especially when I'm watching it on a damn small PSP.

Nowadays a lot of movies running on the internet are presented in this new codec the RMVB.

Are there any free tools to play and (or ) to convert this into DVD or DIVX ??

unless he's on an intel-based Mac with Boot Camp enabling him to run XP, he won't be able to go this route.

  10. RMVB is very popular in Asia for some unknown reasons. I have helped my friends converting a few friends' family video to DVD, most of convering programs did not do right - out-of-syn was usual the problem. Until we discover DVDsanta, it did good for most of time; BUT, it can only from RMVB file to DVD, NOT to another video format; and it is surprisingly fast. It will cost you about $30, for all the hell we've be through, it worths the money. HOWEVER, version 4 still crushes (often enough); get version 3 if you can.
