I purchase a dazzle dvc II and am backing up vhs tapes. When i look at the "clip##.mpg", the audio is in perfect sync, however, when i use moviestar to take out commercials, the audio goes out of sync after a couple minutes. Since the software must be used to "produce" an mpg with audio/video together, i am not sure how to go about fixing this. If anyone has any suggestions on what i might do so that my audio stays in sync, I am all ears!! Thanks to all who decide to help me out

Try to capture with a clean source such as dvd and test your results. Use womble mpg2vcr to edit your captures. I rarely have sync problems using womble. Sync problems occur with the dazzle if the source is subpar, ie: old vhs tapes. Check out http://stop.at/dazzle2 for other DVCII discussions.

once you have captured your mpg file you do not need to use the software that dazzle supplies. if you cap is in sync and then it goes out of sync after editing then there is nothing wrong woth your source and it is a problem with editing. my suggestion would be to ditch the moviestar program once you have completed your cap and try other software like TMPGEnc for editing.
peace out,
