    a. Get a wide wide screen tv
    b. zoom in
    c. cut two rectangular pieces of cardboard. Tape one on the top bit, and one on the bottom bit.

Since that video seems to be a widescreen format, that is the way it will display on a 4:3 (Regular TV) screen. You can crop it and change the aspect ratio to display fullscreen, but you would be cutting off both sides of the video to convert it to a 4:3 aspect ratio. If you are displaying on a computer, you can crop the top and bottom just to get rid of the black. If it was in AVI format, VirtualDub (Mod) will do that, but you will have to re-encode it.

    From our GLOSSARY:
    Aspect Ratio
The width-to-height ratio of an image. A 4:3 aspect ratio means the horizontal size is a third again wider than the vertical size. Standard television ratio is 4:3 (or 1.33:1). Widescreen DVD and HTDV aspect ratio is 16:9 (or 1.78:1). Common film aspect ratios are 1.85:1 and 2.35:1. Aspect ratios normalized to a height of 1 are often abbreviated by leaving off the :1.

thats a bad quality pic .... looks like a copy of a copy or filmed off a screen and/or compressed to divx ...

non the less cyflyer's comments were correct (and funny), but that looks like widescreen displayed on a 4:3 format ....

i would take it back to the store and get the correct widescreen format ....

Are you asking for this (a center crop)?

    Or this (a vertical stretch)?

What do you want to do? You like tall people?

    or this (a simple crop).

The top two would be targeted to a 4:3 TV. The bottom one would only play in that aspect inside a computer window.
